I was just sat watching the “current tv” channel and they featured a company in Nottingham, UK whose website www.crazycoffins.co.uk is causing quite a stir. Vic Fearn & Co are a coffin makers who have recently gone off on quite a tangent and now build custom coffins to order in all shapes and sizes…

The Elm Egg

The Egg shaped coffin was commissioned by a woman who wished to be cremated in the foetal position. Since the egg is also a symbol of birth and regeneration, it is a fitting vehicle to celebrate the passing of one generation to another. This coffin was made by using solid elm.
