A match between “Hanau 93″ (pictured) and “Viktoria 1889 Berlin” were due to play in the German football Championship in 1894 but Hanau couldn’t afford the expense of traveling so it was defaulted to Berlin.
They finally played that match last week, 113 years later, and Berlin won 4-1.
I bet Hanau wish they hadn’t bothered.
